Ingredients For cherry scones

3/4 ccherries, chopped

1/2 tspsugar

1 cflour
-
1 tspbaking powder

1/8 tspbaking soda

2 Tbspsugar

1/4 cbutter, cold and cut into small pieces

1/4 cmilk
-
1 lgegg yolk
How To Make cherry scones

1Place chopped cherries in a bowl and sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of sugar over them, then stir gently. Set aside.

2Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

3Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and sugar.

4Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

5Whisk together milk and egg yolk. Pour into flour mixture and stir until combined.

6Stir in chopped cherries.

7Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead lightly and shape into 5" circle.(about 1" thickness)

8Cut into 4 scones and place on baking sheet.

9Bake 12-15 minutes, until golden.

10Let cool on baking sheet one minute before transferring to wire rack.
