Ingredients For belgian waffles

  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 3
    egg yolks, beaten (reserve whites)
  • 3/4 c
    sour cream
  • 3/4 c
    buttermilk
  • 1/4 c
    shortening, melted and cooled
  • 1/4 c
    butter or margarine, melted and cooled
  • 3
    egg whites, stiffly beaten

How To Make belgian waffles

  • 1
    Whisk dry ingredients together. Combine egg yolks, sour cream and buttermilk, and add to dry ingredients alternately with cooled shortening and butter.

    Stir gently until no longer lumpy. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Cook in waffle iron.
