We have apple trees and I am always looking for ways to incorporate them into recipes. We love this for breakfast or a snack. This coffee cake is moist and easy to make. Also great made with pears. Enjoy.

Ingredients For apple coffee cake

  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    granny smith apples, peeled, cored, diced
  • CRUMBLE
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 4 tsp
    butter

How To Make apple coffee cake

    Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease and flour a 13 x 9 pan.

    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time. Sift dry ingredients together, add to wet mixture alternating with the sour cream, add vanilla. Fold in apples and pour into pan.

    To make crumble, combine all ingredients together until it resembles small crumbs. Sprinkle over the top of the batter. Bake for 40 or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool, eat and enjoy!
