brown sugared bacon

I have seen sweet bacon served in restaurants so I sort of took it upon myself to try to figure it out how to do this at home. I make this for my sons and hubby on weekends and I also make turkey bacon as well. I then do a version of veggie bacon for my daughter and myself which turns out fabulous. It makes the veggie bacon crisp and crunchy instead of lifeless. We use it on weekends with our healthy sausage and gravy that I have posted on this site. What's funny is my husband and son loves the veggie as much as the real bacon but when visitors come to our house, they rave over the real bacon (There is nothing like serving real bacon to guests, especially that thick center cut bacon).

How To Make brown sugared bacon

1Take a sheet pan and spray it with non-cooking spray very well so bacon will not stick. This bacon will get sticky in spots. Lay your bacon lengh-wise side by side. Melt some butter and brush the bacon very, very lightly with butter (oh so lightly) then sprinkly with brown sugar all over each piece. Put into a pre-heated 400 degree F. oven and watch it turn deliciously golden brown. It will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes but after about 12 minutes, start to watch it as ovens may vary. It will get very beautiful and crispy. The bacon will have a sweetness and goldeness that can not be matched and it goes perfectly with biscuits, gravy, pancakes, waffles, eggs, etc. You will get raves. Be careful not to put too much sugar or it will get sticky and too much butter will cause greasiness. It is a select amount on each of these that makes this perfect. You will find the right amount for you. Play with this before you serve it to guests. However, you will find this is a restaurant quality meal that you will serve over and over again. I have.
