1 lgloaf french bread

8eggs

3 cmilk

3/4 csugar, divided

1 Tbspvanilla

5apples, peeled, cored and sliced thin

How To Make baked apple french toast

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Spray 9x13-inch pan lightly with oil.

3Slice bread into 1 1/2-inch slices. Place bread lightly together in one pan (one layer). Beat eggs lightly in bowl. Add milk, 1/4 cup sugar, and vanilla; mix with whisk. Pour 1/2 liquid over bread.

4Place apple slices on top of bread. Pour remaining egg mixture over apples.

5Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over apples. Dot with butter. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve with maple syrup.

6Variation: Prepare, cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake next morning for 50 minutes.
