Ingredients For orange-flavored oat bran pancakes

  • 2/3 c
    flour
  • 1/3 c
    oat bran found in the natural food aisle, or natural food store
  • 1 Tbsp
    packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    fat-free milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 1 tsp
    orange peel or zest
  • 1/2 c
    sugar free maple syrup
  • 1 tsp
    orange peel

How To Make orange-flavored oat bran pancakes

    In bowl, stir together flour, oat bran, brown sugar, 1 tsp orange peel and baking powder. Stir in milk and oil until combined.

    In another bowl, beat egg whites w/ mixer until stiff peaks form. Fold egg whites into batter. Spray a lg skillet w/ cooking spray. Place over medium heat.

    Spoon 1/4 cup batter into skillet. Cook until bubbly, flip over and cook until lightly browned. Repeat w/ batter. In microwaveable bowl, microwave syrup and orange peel, stirring until warmed. Serve warmes syrup w/ pancakes.
