Almost everybody loves a good ol' fried egg sandwich, and there are all kinds, from plain with salt and pepper to fancy with lettuce, tomato and cheese. Here is one of the fancier ones. Ingredients For fried egg sandwich with style

  • 8 slice
    smoked bacon, cooked crisp (or pepper bacon)
  • 8 slice
    sourdough bread
  • 1/2 c
    gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 3 to 4 md
    plum tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 md
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    chopped fresh thyme
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make fried egg sandwich with style

    Cook and drain bacon; keep warm. Toast bread and keep warm.

    For each sandwich, place a toast slice on a plate. Top with 1 oz. gorgonzola spread evenly on toast. Add 2 bacon slices and 2 or 3 tomato slices.

    For each serving, fry 2 eggs until whites are set (completely coagulated and firm) and yolks begin to thicken (no longer runny, but not hard). Turn eggs over, if desired, for additional firmness of yolks. Remove eggs; place over tomato.

    Sprinkle on salt and pepper, if desired, and dash of thyme. Close sandwich with another slice of toast. Serve immediately.
