"Tall, fluffy pancakes are delicious served with butter and syrup or top with strawberries and whipped cream for a real treat." No special ingredients that are not in your pantry. The extra step of beating the egg white takes about 2 minutes but is so worth it.

Ingredients For sour milk pancakes

  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    white vinegar
  • 1 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 Tbsp
    white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 lg
    egg, separated
  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • cooking spray

How To Make sour milk pancakes

    Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour".

    Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

    Whisk egg white in small bowl. Just till foamy almost soft peak.

    Add egg yolk and oil to "soured" milk, pour into the flour mixture and whisk until lumps are gone. Fold in egg white.

    Place cookie sheet in preheated oven of 250 ° F to keep cakes warm till all are finished.

    Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cupfuls of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.
