61/2 inch slices challah bread, day old

1 cmilk

2eggs
-
pinch salt

1 tsphoney (optional)

1/2 tspcinnamon

1/4 tspgrated orange zest (optional)

1/4 tspvanilla (optional)

1 Tbspunsalted butter

1 Tbspoil
How To Make challah french toast

1Whisk eggs and milk. Add orange zest, honey and vanilla. Add salt and cinnamon.

2Soak bread slices for 5-6 minutes, turning once. Remove the soaked bread to a rack suspended over a cookie sheet (to catch drippings) and let it sit for a couple of minutes to fully absorb all the liquid (optional).

3Melt unsalted butter and oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the bread and cook 2-3 minutes on each side. Can remove the slices to a rack over a cookie sheet and place in 350 degree oven for 5 minutes to make sure the soaked bread is well cooked all the way through (optional).
