brown sugar baked oats

This recipe is from Gooseberry Hometown Favorites cookbook submitted by Linda Varner of Three Springs PA It is delicious and can be eaten as a breakfast bar, cereal (plain or with milk), or as a snack. I'm sharing the original recipe, however I add a handful of raisins to it.

Ingredients For brown sugar baked oats

  • 3 c
    quick cooking oats, uncooked
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    cinnamon
  • 3/4 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c
    raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 c
    oil
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make brown sugar baked oats

  • 1
    Combine dry ingredients, including walnuts and raisins.

    Add remaining ingredients to dry mixture. Spread in 9" square pan.

    Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Cut into squares.
