I've been making this easy breakfast for years. I don't remember where I first found the name of the recipe. When I tried to find a picture to post today, it was difficult but I finally found something that "sort of" looks like the final dish! Regardless of what you call it, this is great for breakfast!

Ingredients For stzuddla brod

  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 slice
    bread (wheat, white, farmer's...sturdy bread)
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 c
    ham, diced
  • 1/2 c
    red pepper
  • salt and pepper, use sparingly

How To Make stzuddla brod

  • 1
    Note: Adding the ham and red pepper are optional.

    Melt the butter in a small skillet, on medium-low.
  • 3
    Add the bread and toss to coat in the butter until lightly browned. Note: if you are adding the red pepper and ham, do it at this point.

    Add the egg and continue to toss until the bread (and other ingredients) are well coated.

    Cook until the egg is done.

    Immediately put onto a plate. **This makes one serving or you can divide it up and serve two people.
