This ham and egg sandwich is so easy to make and a great recipe for extra holiday ham. Buttery toast is the base for all the yumminess. Savory ham is topped with a poached egg. The best part is blanketing the sandwich with your favorite shredded cheese and melting it. It's just so good and simple!

    bread
  • butter
  • 1 slice
    baked ham
  • 1/4 c
    Havarti, Monterey Jack, or Swiss cheese; shredded and lightly packed

  • Pre-heating the toaster oven.

    Preheat oven or toaster oven to 400*F (205*C).
  • Adding an egg to simmering water.

    Poach egg in simmering water.
  • Toasting a piece of bread with butter.

    While the egg is cooking, toast and butter bread.
  • Putting a ham slice on toasted bread.

    Put ham slice on toast. Warm in the oven.
  • Topping with the poached egg.

    When the egg is cooked, place on ham.
  • Sprinkling with cheese.
