Ingredients For sausage custard

  • 1 lb
    sausage links
  • 8 slice
    white bread, cut into cubes
  • 1 1/2 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 5
    eggs, beaten
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    half and half

How To Make sausage custard

    The night before, cook and drain the sausage links. Cut into bite-sized pieces.

    Spray 2 quart oven proof casserole dish with cooking spray.

    Arrange sausage and bread cubes in bottom of pan.
  • 4
    Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
  • 5
    Combine the eggs, milk and half and half and pour it over the bread and sausage.

    Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.

    In the morning, remove the dish and let come to room temperature, about 30 minutes.

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

    Bake the dish, uncovered, until it has puffed and browned. About 1 hour.
