Ingredients For puffed potatoes and sausage

  • 1/4 c
    green onions, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 c
    mashed potatoes
  • 1 c
    american cheese, shredded
  • 3
    egg yolks
  • 1/3 c
    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3
    egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 8 oz
    brown and serve sausage links

How To Make puffed potatoes and sausage

    Preheat oven 375.
  • 2
    Saute onion in butter till tender, but not browned.
  • 3
    Stir in cooked onion and cheese into mashed potatoes.
  • 4
    Beat egg yolks, milk and salt together; blend into potato mixture. Fold in beaten egg whites.

    Turn into a 2-quart casserole. Arrange sausage links on top. Bake uncovered till set; about 45 minutes.
