  • 14 slice
    french bread, about 1 inch thick
  • 1/2 c
    butter, (1 stick)
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    light corn syrup
  • 6
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • ground cinnamon

How To Make make ahead baked carmel french toast

    Over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil and cook for 2-3 minutes until the caramel comes together. Pour the caramel into a 9inch by 11 inch glass or ceramic dish.

    Layer the bread slices over the caramel mixture. In medium bowl, mix eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour over the bread. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.

    In the morning, uncover and bake in 350 F oven for 45 minutes. Serve with fresh fruit.
