Not sure where this recipe came from, but my sister-in-law in Cincinnati always makes it for us when we stay over.

Ingredients For lousiana egg bake

  • 1 lb
    tennessee pride ground sausage
  • 6
    eggs beaten with whisk
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 8 oz
    small curd cottage cheese
  • 6 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • 3 oz
    cream cheese
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/ tsp
    salt
  • 8-10 oz
    monterray jack cheese
  • 4 oz
    cheddar cheese
  • 1 can
    chi chi's brand green chiles (can substitute jalopeno peppers for a hotter casserole)

How To Make lousiana egg bake

    Brown the sausage, drain and let cool. Add the chiles.

    Mix the rest of the ingredients in a large bowl, add the meat mixture. Pour into a 9 x 13 pan.

    Best if refrigerated overnight. Then bake for 40 minutes in a 350-degree oven.
