breakfast awaits

I think the name comes from having to wait at least 8 hours to dig into it. Enjoy!
Blue Ribbon Recipe
This simple casserole is great if you're having houseguests. It's prepared the night before so you just have to pop it in the oven in the morning. It's delicious and bakes perfectly. For testing purposes, we stuck with the basic recipe, but you could really have some fun with the add-in options. Your crew is going to gobble this up!

How To Make breakfast awaits
-
1Place a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and any veggies other than spinach (if using) and cook until browned and softened. Drain.
-
2Arrange the bread on the bottom of a well buttered 13x9-inch baking dish. Scatter the meat mixture over the bread. If you are using spinach, add it here.
-
3Sprinkle on the cheese.
-
4Mix the eggs, milk, dry mustard, and salt in a medium bowl.
-
5Pour over the bread and meat mixture.
-
6Seal the baking dish with foil and refrigerate overnight, or at least 8 hours.
-
7When ready to bake, remove from the refrigerator leaving the foil on and set on the counter for no more then a half hour to allow the pan to get closer to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
-
8Bake while covered for 40 minutes.
-
9Uncover and bake for an additional 12-15 minutes until the top is golden. Enjoy!
