Ingredients For baked cheese grits

  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 2/3 c
    water
  • 2/3 c
    quick cooking hominy grits
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 6 oz
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper

How To Make baked cheese grits

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Grease a 2-quart baking dish.

    Add salt to water.
  • 4
    Bring to a full, rolling boil.

    Add grits; return to boiling point.

    Cook, stirring constantly, until very thick, about 6 minutes.

    Remove from heat.

    Add fat.

    Mix cheese, eggs and pepper.

    Stir into grits.

    Pour into baking dish.

    Bake 40 minutes or until lightly browned.
