I made up this recipe because I had leftover orange Danish rolls from a tube and forgot about them for about 10 days. This recipe can be played with and used with any type of leftover sweet rolls. Make sure rolls are at least 1 week old and keep frosting on. My husband likes it with a little syrup over it. Serve with fresh fruit it makes a great brunch.

This makes a small side dish. Double the recipe to make a 9x13 casserole.

1Bake the orange rolls according to the package directions. Frost and let cool. Cover and save for the next day.

2Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Fry the bacon in a pan or cook in the microwave until crisp.

3If using onions, saute for 3 - 5 minutes until translucent.

4Cube the sweet rolls with frosting. Put in a 5x9 pan sprayed with butter-flavored cooking spray.

5Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the cubed rolls.

6Combine milk, eggs, and onions (if using).

7Pour the milk mixture over the cheese and cubed rolls.

8Bake, covered with foil, for 45 - 50 minutes.

9Remove the casserole from the oven. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and the bacon.

10Return to the oven. Bake for 5 more minutes until the cheese is melted.

11Let rest for 10 minutes. Can be served with syrup.
