Ingredients For vanilla french toast

4eggs, lightly beaten

1 chalf-and-half or light cream
-
1 Tbspsugar
-
2 tspvanilla
-
1 tspground cinnamon
-
1/4 tspground nutmeg
-
8slices dry white or whole wheat bread

2 Tbspbutter or vegetable oil
-
maple-flavored syrup
-
sliced bananas (optional)
How To Make vanilla french toast

1In a shallow bowl, beat together eggs, half-and-half, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Dip bread slices into egg mixture, coating both sides.

2In a very large skillet or on a griddle, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter over medium heat. Add half of the bread slices and cook for 4 to 6 minutes or until golden, turning once. Repeat with remaining bread slices and the remaining butter. Serve with maple syrup and sliced bananas.
