So easy to pack for lunch. This makes a nice after school treat, before bedtime treat or with a nice cuppa cuppa anytime of day. I have had this recipe for 40 years. I not sure where it came from.

Ingredients For tina's rhubarb bread

1 1/2 cbrown sugar

2/3 cvegetable oil

1 cbuttermilk

1 tspsalt

1 tspbaking powder

1 tspvanilla

2 1/2 call purpose flour

1 1/2 csliced rhubarb in 1/2 in slices

1/2 cchopped nuts
-
1/2 csugar
-
1 Tbspbutter
-
2 Tbspflour
-
2 Tbspoatmeal, uncooked
How To Make tina's rhubarb bread

1Cream brown sugar, oil. Add egg and cream until smooth.

2Sift flour, salt, baking powder. Add vanilla to milk

3Add milk mixture and flour mixture to sugar mixture. Beat until incorporated. Stir in rhubarb and nuts

4Grease 2 loaf pans. Place 1/2 of batter in each pan. In small bowl mix remaining sugar, butter, flour and oatmeal. Sprinkle 1/2 on batter in each pan. Bake 325 degrees for 60 minutes.
