Got this recipe from my friend Kathy, her grandmother in Texas made them for her when she was a child

Ingredients For texas scones

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 4 tsp
    baking powder
  • dash
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 3/4 c
    buttermilk

How To Make texas scones

    Mix the dry ingredients together
  • 2
    Cut in the butter
  • 3
    Make a well and slowly add the buttermilk. Mix gently with a fork until the dough comes together. You may need a little more or less buttermilk.

    Pat dough out onto a floured surface. Shape into a circle about 6 inches across. Cut into wedges. Space wedges onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake @ 425 for 10-15 minutes, till firm and lightly browned. Best served the same day
