Ingredients For sweet milk doughnuts

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    shortening, melted
  • 2
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp
    ginger
  • 4 3/4 c
    flour

How To Make sweet milk doughnuts

    In large bowl combine eggs & sugar, blend carefully.

    In small bowl combine milk, shortening and vanilla.

    In another bowl combine flour, salt, baking powder and spices.

    Add alternately the milk mixture and flour mixture to the egg/sugar bowl. Chill mixture for 2 hours.

    Turn onto lightly floured board and roll out to 1/4" thick sheet. Cut with floured cutter and deep fat fry (365 degrees) until brown. Drain on crumpled absorbent paper.
