A favorite old recipe from the 1980s. I use frozen berries all winter and don't always do the topping. Sometimes I lightly press brown sugar into the raw top, but it really doesn't need anything. Great at breakfast or anytime.

Ingredients For strawberry bread
- BREAD

3 cmashed strawberries

3 call purpose flour
-
1 tspbaking soda
-
1 tspcinnamon
-
2 csugar
-
1 tspsalt

1 1/4 coil
-
4eggs, well beaten
- TOPPING (OPTIONAL)

1/2 creserved strawberry juice
-
8 ozcream cheese
How To Make strawberry bread

1To prepare the bread, drain 1/2 cup syrup from mashed strawberries to save for topping.

2Mix all dry ingredients together and make a hole in the center.

3Add the mashed strawberries, remaining juice, oil and eggs.

4Mix by hand or on lowest speed until thoroughly combined.

5Pour into 2 greased 9×5 pans.

6Bake at 350 degrees F for 50-60 minutes.

7Cool thoroughly on a wire rack.

8To prepare the topping (if using), mix the saved juice with softened cream cheese. Drizzle over breads.
