Ingredients For steamed brown bread

  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 c
    molasses
  • 2 c
    graham (whole wheat) flour
  • 2 c
    sour milk
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 pinch
    salt

How To Make steamed brown bread

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients together well.
  • 2
    Pour into 6 well greased cans (use clean vegetable cans, all same size), 1/3-1/2 full. Cover with 3 layers of wax paper - secure with rubber band. Place in roaster, add water 1/3 way up cans. Cover. Steam 3 hours at 350 degrees.
