I'm posting this recipe because I love Squaw Bread and I want to try and make it. This recipe may change as I play around with it and other ingredient options. (There is also a yeast recipe for this.) Please feel free to make your own version and please let me know how it turns out!!! This bread does not need the butter spread. It's wonderful used as sandwich slices! Especially with my Anytime Thanksgiving Sandwich! I think I will add a 1/2 tsp of caramel coloring to give it a rich dark color too.

Ingredients For squaw bread

1 cwhite flour

2 cwhole wheat flour

1/2 csugar

1 tspsalt

1 tspbaking soda

1 1/2 cmilk

1/2 cmolasses

1 stickbutter
-
1 stickoleo

1/2 choney
How To Make squaw bread

1Sift the dry ingredients together.

2Combine the liquids.

3Blend all together with electric mixer until well blended.

4Bake 325 degrees in a loaf pan for 1 1/2 hr.

5Mix well the butter, oleo and honey. Store in the frig.

6Serve bread slices with the butter spread.
