It was cold here yesterday,so I was going through some of my Mothers old recipes, so found this one and on went the oven, made the house warm and smelled fantastic.

Ingredients For pumpkin dessert bread

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    pumpkin
  • 4 lg
    eggs (beaten)
  • 1 1/4 c
    cooking oil (i used butter)
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts

How To Make pumpkin dessert bread

    Sift together flour, baking soda,salt, and cinnamon. Place in a large bowl.

    Make a well in the center and add sugar, pumpkin, beaten eggs, cooking oil, and nuts.

    Stir carefully just enough to dampen all dry ingredients. Pour into 2 loaf pans 9x1/2x5x2. Bake one hour at 350 degrees.

    let cool 5 minutes run butter knife around sides , turn out on wire racks.

    When cool I drizzled with butter frosting, (It just looked like it needed it)
