Ingredients For poppy seed bread

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 2 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 1/8 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    butter extract
  • GLAZE
  • 1/4 c
    orange juice
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    each vanilla, almond, & butter extracts

How To Make poppy seed bread

    PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES. MIX FIRST 11 INGREDIENTS TOGETHER IN MIXER FOR 2 MIN. POUR INTO 2 GREASED BREAD LOAF PANS.

    BAKE FOR 1 HOUR UNTIL GOLDEN AND TOOTHPICK COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL 10 MIN. REMOVE FROM PANS. POUR WARM GLAZE OVER

    MIX LAST 3 INGREDIENTS IN A SEPARATE BOWL AND STIR WITH A FORK. LET STAND 5 MIN. POUR OVER WARM BREAD. BE SURE TO COAT ALL SIDES OF BREAD. THIS IS A GREAT ONE TO DO SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE SERVING. IN 25 YEARS WE'VE NEVER HAD A CHRISTMAS MORNING WITHOUT THIS!
