Ingredients For pineapple cheese bread

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, 8.5 oz, undrained
  • 2 tbsp. shortening, melted
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

How To Make pineapple cheese bread

  • 1
    Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt. Beat egg lightly and stir in pineapple with syrup and shortening.

    Add dry ingredients and stir quickly til dry ingredients are moistened. Gently stir in cheese and walnuts and turn batter into greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or til cake tester comes out clean. Remove from pan and cool completely before slicing. Shirley Shumway
