This freezes very well when wrapped in aluminum foil....if you ever have any leftover!! Also makes a nice hostess or "just because" gift.

Ingredients For orange dessert bread

  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    almond flavoring
  • 2 Tbsp
    poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make orange dessert bread

    Mix all ingredients. Beat 2 minutes at med. speed. Pour into 3 loaf pans, sprayed with no-stick spray.

    Bake 45-60 minutes at 350 degrees or 6 small loaf pans at 30-40 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

    Glaze while hot with: 3/4 cup sugar; 1/4 cup orange juice; 2 Tablespoons butter; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 1 tsp. almond flavoring
