1 1/2 csugar

1/3 cwater

1 1/3 corange juice

3/4 corange peel

1/4 cbutter

2eggs, beaten

4 cflour

4 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspbaking soda

2 tspsalt
How To Make orange bread, mom

1Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Add peel and stir constantly over med heat until dissolved. Reduce heat, cook 5 min. Add butter, when melted, cool and add juice and egg. Add dry ingredients. Turn into greased 8x4 pan. Bake 45-50 min at 325 degrees. Let stand 10 min and turn out to rack to cool. Store overnight before slicing.

2To sliver orange peel, remove thin orange colored peel only with a vegetable peeler and cut into strips.
