    ripe bananas
  • 2 lg
    egg
  • 2 Tbsp
    molasses
  • 2 Tbsp
    oil (i use corn oil)
  • 2/3 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts

How To Make mother's banana bread (sallye)

    Preheat oven to 325º Chop nuts and set aside Grease or lightly spray a 8" x 5" x 3" loaf pan.

    In large mixing bowl, mash bananas until no lumps remain. Be patient, this can take a few minutes. Add unbeaten egg to bananas and mix well. Beat in sugar, molasses and oil until well blended.

    Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Pour nuts into sifted flour to cover.

    Mix flour and nuts into mixture until well blended. Pour into greased loaf pan Cook in preheated 325º oven for 1 hour.
