4 call purpose flour

1 Tbspsugar

1 1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspsalt

1/4 cbutter
-
1 cseedless raisins (aren't all raisins seedless - ok mom - lol!)

1 3/4 cbuttermilk
How To Make *** mom's irish soda bread ***

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

2In a large bowl sift together flour through salt. Use pastry blender & but butter in until crumbly. Stir in raisins. Add buttermilk & stir until mixture is combined & forms a soft dough.

3Turn out onto a floured surface. Gather dough into a ball & knead 6 - 8 turns until dough holds together. Shape into a 7" round dish & place on ungreased bake sheet.

4Cut 1" deep X across top of bread & bake 40 - 45 minutes until brown. Bread should sound hollow when tapped on bottom.

5Let cool on a rack.
