Ingredients For mom's cottage cheese buns

  • 4 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    shortening
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1
    cake yeast, dissolved
  • CHEESE FILLING:
  • 2 c
    cottage cheese
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/4 c
    raisins
  • 1
    egg yolk

How To Make mom's cottage cheese buns

  • 1
    Mix all dry ingredients together. Add shortening, egg, milk and dissolved yeast. Knead until smooth. Place in a warm place to rise 2 hours or more.

    Roll out on board 1/4 thick; cut into 4 inch squares.

    Place tablespoon cheese filling in each square; fold corners.

    Place in greased pan. Let stand for 1/2 hour.

    Brush tops with egg yolk. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
