This recipe comes from my mom. She used to make it a lot during the holidays.

Ingredients For mom marcon's cranberry bread

2 cups flour

1 cup sugar

1 1/2 t. baking powder

1 t. salt

1/2 t. baking soda

1/4 cup shortening
-
1 t. grated orange peel
-
3/4 cup orange juice

1 well beaten egg
-
1 cup fresh cranberries

1/2 cup nuts
How To Make mom marcon's cranberry bread

1Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Mix peel, juice and egg, and add to dry ingredients. Mix just to moisten.

2Bake at 350 for 60 minutes. Cool. Wrap and store overnight. Hint: To avoid nuts and berries from sinking to bottom, add part of the flour mixture to nuts and berries before adding to batter. Source: My Mom and My Old Recipes
