Ingredients For maui banana bread

  • 1/2 lb
    unsalted butter, softened (2 sticks) or 1 c vegetable oil
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 6 md
    very ripe bananas, peel and mash
  • 2 1/2 c
    unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    chopped macadamia nuts

How To Make maui banana bread

  • 1
    Oven to 350 degrees. Grease two 9" loaf pans. Combine butter and sugar, beat with electric mixer until creamy and pale yellow. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add bananas. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to banana mixture and stir just until incorporated. Mix in nuts. Divide batter between two prepared pans and bake 50-60 minutes or toothpick test. Let each loaf cool in pan 10 minutes then remove to wire rack to cool completely.
