Have had this recipe for so many years I don't remember where I got it, make it every year always turns out great. You know you have an old recipe when the paper its wrote on is yellow and stained. I hope you enjoy.

Ingredients For just plain old rhubarb bread

  • 3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    crisco oil (i used coconut oil)
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 2 c
    milk@4 tablespoons vinigar(mixed together)
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 5 c
    flour
  • 3 c
    rhubarb (diced and blanched)
  • 1 c
    walnuts (chopped)
  • TOPPING
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make just plain old rhubarb bread

  • 1
    Mix ingredients in order given pour into well greased and floured bread pans makes 2 loaves .Add topping .Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours
