I served this as a dessert, sliced and with a dollop of whipped cream. You can buy candied ginger bits in larger stores and specialty markets, which saves time of chopping.

Ingredients For ginger, pear and pecan bread

1 2/3 call purpose flour

3/4 cgranulated sugar

1 1/2 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspsalt

1 tspground ginger

1/2 cbutter, melted

1/4 cmilk

2 lgeggs
-
1 can(15 oz) sliced pears, drained and chopped

1/4 ccandied ginger. chopped

1/2 cpecan halves
How To Make ginger, pear and pecan bread

1Preheat oven to 350F. Butter the bottom and sides of a loaf pan.

2In a large bowl, sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and ginger.

3In a medium bow, beat melted butter, mil and eggs; add to dry ingredients and stir in pears until well combined.

4Stir in candied ginger and pecans. Pour batter in prepared pan.

5Bake 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

6Cool on wire rack in pan for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
