My husband got this recipe when he was in a foods class in high school. He wont fix it but asks for these all the time.

Ingredients For german potato doughnuts

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    mashed potatoes
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    butter
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt

How To Make german potato doughnuts

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients.
  • 2
    Roll out fairly thick (about 1").
  • 3
    Cut in 2" or 3" strips
  • 4
    Drop in hot fat and fry until brown. They form interesting shapes as they fry. Roll in powder sugar or cinnamon sugar.
