2 cwarm water

1 tspsalt

1 dashnutmeg

1/2 csugar

2eggs

1/4 tsplemon extract

1/2 cmelted lard (lard only)

2 pkgyeast

1/2 cwarm water

5 cflour

cinnamon
How To Make german coffee cake

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Place first 7 ingredients (everything but yeast) in mixer bowl, beat well. Add 3 cups white flour. Continue beating. When well mixed, add dissolved yeast. Add 2 more cups flour, 1 c. at a time. Stil until mixer cannot handle the dough.

3Pour out on floured board, knead, adding a small amt of flour as needed. When the dough is no longer sticky, pat into a round mold. Place in warm spot to raise till doubled. Punch down.

4Make into loaves, but only as thick as an inch. Punch holes into dough. Pat with lard. Sprinkle with generous amount of white sugar, then sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover. Let rise until doubled. Bake 40-45 minutes @ 350 degrees.
