1 pkg[8 ounces] pitted dates

1 1/4 cboiling water

1 1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

6 Tbspbutter, room temperature

1egg beaten

2 1/4 csifted all-purpose flour

1 1/2 tspbaking powder

1 1/2 tspsalt
How To Make date tea bread

1cut dates in small pieces into medium-size bowl,pour boilling water over.Stir in sugar and butter until butter melts,cool.Stier in beaten egg.

2Sift flour,soda,and salt onto wax paper,stier into date mixture just until blended.pour into greased loaft pan.let stand 15 min.

3Bake in moederate oven[350f 1 hour and 10 min,or until wooden pick inserted deep into loft comes out clean, cool in pan 5 min,turn out on wire rack,cool completely.

4wrap in wax paper, foil,or trasparent wrap,store at least 1 day before slicing.
