Ingredients For date tea bread

  • 1 pkg
    [8 ounces] pitted dates
  • 1 1/4 c
    boiling water
  • 1 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter, room temperature
  • 1
    egg beaten
  • 2 1/4 c
    sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt

How To Make date tea bread

  • 1
    cut dates in small pieces into medium-size bowl,pour boilling water over.Stir in sugar and butter until butter melts,cool.Stier in beaten egg.

    Sift flour,soda,and salt onto wax paper,stier into date mixture just until blended.pour into greased loaft pan.let stand 15 min.

    Bake in moederate oven[350f 1 hour and 10 min,or until wooden pick inserted deep into loft comes out clean, cool in pan 5 min,turn out on wire rack,cool completely.

    wrap in wax paper, foil,or trasparent wrap,store at least 1 day before slicing.
