Ingredients For cranberry bread

  • 2 Tbsp
    shortening
  • 2 c
    self rising flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    orange peel, grated
  • juice from one orange
  • 1 c
    cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts, chopped

How To Make cranberry bread

  • 1
    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan.

    Cut shortening into flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and peel. Add water to juice to measure 3/4 cup; blend in cheese and egg.

    Gold in cranberries and nuts. Bake in prepared pan 60 - 70 minutes. Let loaf stand 8 hours before serving.
