Ingredients For cranberry bread

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 stick
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled, 1/2 stick
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 t. grated orange zest
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped

How To Make cranberry bread

  • 1
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Cut in 1/4 cup butter until mixture is crumbly. Add the egg, melted butter, orange juice and orange zest and stir just until moistened. Fold in cranberries. Spoon into a greased 5 x 9 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan for several minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely. Serves 8 Big Taste of Little Rock
