2 call-purpose flour (unbleached)

1 cwhite sugar

2 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspbaking soda

1 1/2 tspground cinnamon

1 tspsalt
-
1 cbuttermilk
-
1/4 cvegetable oil
-
2eggs
-
2 tspvanilla extract
-
1/4 cpecans, chopped ( optional )
- TOPPING / I DOUBLE THIS

3 Tbspsugar

1/2 tspcinnamon

2 tspbutter, softened

1/4 cchopped pecans ( optional )
How To Make cinnamon swirl bread - so easy

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease one 9x5 inch loaf pan.

2In large mixing bowl add the first 10 ingredients, beat 3 minutes.

3Pour into prepared loaf pan. Smooth top.

4Combine 3 tablespoons white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and butter, mixing until crumbly.

5Sprinkle topping over smoothed batter. Using knife, cut in a light swirling motion to give a marbled effect. (sprinkle top with 1/4 cup pecans.) I usually double the cinnamon mixture.

6Bake for about 50 minutes. Test with toothpick. When inserted it should come out clean. Remove bread from pan to rack to cool.

7You can glaze with a simple confectioners' sugar, cream and vanilla mixture. I don't always... It's also great with the addition of plumped up raisins.
