It was originally prepared by campfire, but the instructions have been updated for modern baking. But the ingredients are as originally written over a century ago.

How To Make chuck wagon pecan bread

1Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan; set aside.

2Combine all ingredients and stir well. Pour into greased 9x5-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.

3Turn out, and let cool on wire rack. It keeps well when wrapped tightly.
