4 call purpose flour

1/4 csugar

3 tspbaking powder

1 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

1/4 cbutter, softened

1 craisins
-
1/2 csemi-sweet chocolate chips

1 1/3 cbuttermilk or milk

1egg
-
1egg yolk
-
1 Tbspwater
How To Make chocolate irish soda bread

1Combine in bowl flour,sugar,baking powder, baking soda and salt. Using 2 knives,cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2Stir in raisins and chocolate chips.

3In a bowl combine milk and egg and beat well. Add to flour mixture and stir till dry ingredients are moistened.

4On floured surface knead dough about 3 minutes and then shape into flattened ball.

5Place on greased cookie sheet or baking pan to fit.Put an X on top of dough with a sharp knife about 1/2 inch deep.

6Combine egg yolk and water and brush on top of bread.

7Bake at 375 degrees for 50-60 minutes till golden.
