chocolate chip banana bread or muffins

I play Mahjong every week with a group of friends. Last week, the hostess served homemade chocolate chip banana bread. It was so good, I had to ask for the recipe. It's easy to make, and oh so delicious!

Ingredients For chocolate chip banana bread or muffins

  • 3/4 c
    white sugar
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 2
    eggs, well-beaten
  • 1 c
    bananas, well-ripened (approx. 2-3)
  • 1 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips

How To Make chocolate chip banana bread or muffins

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Grease loaf pan. If making muffins, either grease the muffin tins or insert paper cups.

    Mix all ingredients well and put in greased loaf pan or muffin tins.

    Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool. If making muffins, bake for 25-30 minutes. Check after 25 minutes to see if the toothpick comes out clean and dry.

    NOTE: You may use peanut butter chips in place of the semi-sweet chocolate chips, or use a combination of the two. Delicious either way!
