This recipes started out has just needing to use up some bananas. I had seen a recipe for banana bread using cake mix and looked it up. I knew I wanted to do something a bit more fun than simple banana bread and so this idea was born. This is wonderfully moist and Incredibly delicious.

Ingredients For banana split bread

  • 4
    bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 c
    mayonnaise
  • 3
    eggs
  • 3 Tbsp
    crushed pineapple
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c
    freeze dried strawberries, lightly broken up.
  • 1 box
    yellow or vanilla cake mix
  • 1/2 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 c
    chopped pecans

How To Make banana split bread

  • 1
    Mix together bananas, mayonnaise, eggs, pineapple and vanilla extract until well blended and add strawberries. Mix lightly. let's sit for a few minutes to plump the strawberries

    Toss chocolate chips in cake mix and pour into banana mixture.

    Coat 2 loaf pans in butter nonstick spray. Pour sugar into pan and move paying around until sugar coats all sides and bottom evenly pour out excess sugar.

    Pour half the batter into each loaf pan and top with half of the chopped pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before removing.
