Ingredients For banana rum bread

  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 lg
    ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    dark rum

How To Make banana rum bread

  • 1
    preheat oven to 350. grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • 2
    in a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

    beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing between additions.
  • 4
    beat in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas until fully incorporated. mix in the flours, baking soda, baking powder and salt. stir in the rum.

    transfer batter to prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

    cool loaf in pan for 10 minutes before removing and transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.
