I have always loved banana nut bread but I haven't had it since my Great-Grandmother passed away in 97. I found this recipe in a book my Grandmother gave me and just had to try it. I love it. After 14 years I finally have one of my favorite things again.

Ingredients For banana nut bread

  • 1/2 c
    cooking oil
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs beaten
  • 3
    ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts

How To Make banana nut bread

    Beat oil and sugar together.
  • 2
    Add eggs and bananas and beat well.

    Add sifted dry ingredients, milk, and vanilla. Mix well and stir in nuts.

    Pour into greased and floured loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch). Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Cool well and store overnight before cutting.
